We have a Canon iR-ADV C5540 with Fiery controller, shared from a Win 2012R2 print server. The printer is deployed by Group Policy. Our network users are experiencing substantial delays changing their print properties when they use this printer. It can take 2-3 minutes for the printer properties window to even appear.
We discovered that by disabling Two Way Communication in the print driver properties, this alleviates the long delays. However we need to propagate this change down to all client machines connected to this shared print queue. Normally with a deployed printer you can open the Printing Defaults for it on the print server and make the changes there, but with this printer going to Printing Defaults opens up a separate Fiery window instead.
Is there a way to disable the Two Way Communication setting and have it push down to all the machines it's deployed on?
Thanks!
