I tried installing the new driver on my mac-- now what?
After a power outage the printer is basically dead. No lights on any button & the display is blank. I've tried shutting off then on. Unplugged & replugged the cable. In the control panel the printer was offline so put it online. Docs just get added to the printer's queue. If I try to restrart printing, I get a printer error so I've deleted the entire queue. Looked at the manual but couldn't find anything relavent--I was hoping to figure out how to reset the printer.
I'm out of ideas. Please help!

Greetings,
I'm not familiar with your particular printer model, but have plenty of experience with devices that have died from surge, flucuations and brownouts.
Attempting to power cycle a damaged device doesn't work. Dead is dead. If the printer has an external power supply, thats the first thing to check. Replace it. If the power supply is built in then this complicates things. At that point, you have to decide if the cost to repair exceeds the replacement value. In the majority of cases, the cost of repair often exceeds the replacement value of an electronic device. Note I said often but not always.
There is a small chance that the printer has an internal protective circuit or fuseable link that fails in order to protect the device. If your printer is equipped with such protection, it might be able to be reset, or replaced at a cost substancially less than a replacement device.
I'd start by calling Canon. A few minutes with support should you let you know where you stand and what steps to take next. Repair, replace, etc.
Suddenly, my D530 started giving me an error message when I try to print or copy. It says there is no paper in the drawer and tells me to load paper. There IS paper in the drawer, but when I clear the error message and attempt to print or copy, the paper rolls halfway up and jams. Then I get the Paper Jam message, and I go through all the steps to clear it. Then when I try again, it tells me there is no paper. Next I get the jam. It is this one-two error every single time. Help.
My D550 does the same thing! Any suggestions?
Thank you solved my problem onceI used my Mac username and password.
Thank you - this hadn't occurred to me.

Hi thanat,
Let's test the hardware by scanning from a different program.
Click the Finder icon in the Dock at the bottom of your screen.
Click on "Go" in the Menu Bar at the top of the screen.
Select "Applications."
Select "Image Capture."
If you see the message "No camera or scanner is selected," hover your mouse over "Devices," then press "Show."
Select your scanner.
You can press "Scan" to begin immediately, or "Show Details" for more options.
Are you able to acquire an image?
Windows 10 and USB.
My prints always have approx. 1.25 ins. of vertical lines on right side (long side for both portrait and landscape printing).. First inch towards right they are black, dark, light, dark, light, etc., approximately 1 in. each. Last .25 in.,approximately at end, they are magenta, yellow and one thick black line. The colors are mainly magenta with yellow mixed in though no cyan.
I have performed numerous ITB's, cleaning Intermediate Transfer Belt. I have also lightly cleaned the Transfer Belt with a soft cloth even though I could not get the Toner Tray; out of the machine.
Might anyone have any ideas
Thanks,
Dennis
My question is actually about copying, not printing. For some reason, I can not copy two-sided any longer. When I click on the 2 sided button on the printer, the option is grayed out. Any suggesstions on how to be able to copy 2 sided again? I have a D530. Thank you!
My upper tray will only go in about an inch and is blocked. I loaded 5x7 photo paper but beilieve the printer thinks that the cassette is in place, and not outside the printer.... MG7520
Thanks
My MF731C/733C has started to print black dots - evenly spaced when black is used across the page. I went through the various cleaning options. Not sure if I need to "shake" the black toner.
Please help: My mf toolbox 4.9 that I have used with my Canon imageclass 216n printer suddenly won't work. It's worked with Windows 10 but not now. I have uninstalled the software to no avail. I have installed the latest driver software for the computer, but that's not worked either. I have reinstalled the toolbox software, but no luck. The printer connected by USB does work.
