Best glossy paper for my image class lbp612cdw laser printer

$

Hi All, This is my first laser printer after 2 other inkjet.

I have some old pictures I want to print and look like a regular photo print.

I have tried Kodak's photo paper(inkjet) and it looks good.

I tried HP Brochure paper, glossy, and it looked like some of the print pulled up from print (black)

the Kodak was 44 lb and the hp is 40 lb.

When I use the plain paper or the Kodak,no marks.

when I use the HP,marks, even says it is for laser.

Any help???

Thank you,George

Found the solution.  Downloaded the drivers from Canon's website:

MF240SeriesMFDriverV2175W32usEN

Opened Windows 10 device manager

Updated driver from this folder

Note:  #10 envelopes now show up in the printer paper selection.

Did you ever get an answer to this .... I see Canon gave you the run around.  I am having the same problem.  And I'm sure it's because I used a non-canon brand ink cartridge.

This will be the last time I buy a canon printer if it will freeze up the printer like this with no community support or a way to get the cartridge out of the printer.

Stupid Canon....

Hi ksh,

There is no runaround. You'll need to call to talk to a support representative to find out what's causing the issue -- why the printer is refusing to allow you to remove the ink tank.

Our support team is available weekdays from 10am to 10pm (ET) at 1-800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666). Support at Canon USA is always free, and our people are all right here in the United States.

Re: How do I enable the scan to email address functionality of the imageless mf628cw?

I stumbled upon this forum post in my quest to enable scanning to email from my MF733Cdw via Google repeatedly in various search attempts with the prior steps not completely working, but knowing I was on the right track from these two replies (first to set the destinations through the wizard that uses the IP address, second to use the remote UI by IP address login as manager to set the TX email/ifax settings).  It still wasn't working.

This video here would have been a big help, so to save others time:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLygv3E0ODY.

You have to go under network from the remote UI and change the port to 587 AND be sure after saving that to go into the TX settings and only use the info precisely as shown in this video, not changing any more check boxes.

Also note my comment there on this video that gmail blocked the attempt(s) to use the smtp server, so I had to enable "less secure apps."  Google emailed me asking me to review a blocked attempt to request access, and I had to cllck the allow link in the email which then brought me to a page to enable access to "less secure apps."  I did, and it finally works.

In setup. when searching for printer dialogue box appears and search complete, no printers appear. Many search again attempts and no printers appear for installation. Hep?

Michael - I have the same issue with my MB2720.   Will the ink holder not move until one is empty?

Also, will both the normal and the XL cartridges work in the printer for ALL colors?

I did get it to come out by using a way that someone else posted.  I'm so not happy with the last two cannon printers I have bought.  The last one did the same thing and there was no getting that out of there.  This one I got it out but even though I have a cannon ink cartridge in there it keeps cloggin up.  And I keep having to clean it which means the other colors are now showing that they are running low even through I just put new ones in of every color.  GRRRRR  lots of frustration... The next printer will not be Canon... I will go back to lexmark or some other brand that allows you to use off brand ink as well as refilling your own tanks.  Not a slave to Canon anymore.

Really unhappy with the way setup went

I purchased my Cannon MB2160 Maxima Printer in New Zealand (I'm recently immigrated from the U.S.) and I was expecting to be happy with the purchase, but I give Cannon a big two-thumbs-down.

Came out of the box and I couldn't get passed a stupid error code 2110 (wrong size setting in the paper cassette) - even though it wasn't!  And when I looked online, I saw dozens and dozens of people just as frustrated!  After wasting about 45 minutes looking online for a simple reasonable solution and finding long convoluted descriptions of how to fix it (even the other unhappy customers didn't find these solutions useful), I finally decided to read, re-read and ponder what the very short message was.  I found a way to simply disable the message.  NOTE, I didn't FIX the problem, I only found a way AROUND the problem!  The next day, I was in the store, when i found two other customers in there talking with the rep about the difficulty and I told them about my "workaround" and the customers were SO happy that SOMEONE figured it out.  I told them the steps, and the reps in the store wrote it down, because they said that unfortunately, other folks had also complained about it.

I made a full day without any more errors, but alas... now it wants a firmware update... no instructions on how to do it... only the lame unhelpful notice that I need to do it, and oh, by the way, I can't print anything unless I physically walk to the machine override the error then try to print again!

I went onto this community and some gentleman gave explicit directions on how to fix it.   The reality is that the tiny little screen interface APPEARS to only have 4 options!  When in fact, you can move DOWN below the options on the screen (no visual queuing that this is possible), so I was able to follow through and get the firmware update.   And HOPEFULLY, by the time I finish this email, my printer will work again for another 24 hours!

Cannon, be honest, did you kill your usability and QA engineers, or did you just ignore them?

Thanks for making the rather simple process of printing into a wonderfully frustrating experience!

Hello.

The 'WS' versions were added by the Microsoft WSD service.  You should be able to remove these with no issues.

I have a MF 9220 and when we use the diplexer the paper jams and we have spent around $300 already to repair and it still jams.

After trying everything possible I gave up and bought a reconditioned one, same model.  This model is discontinued, but I had a new unopened toner cartridge that I did not want to waste.  The reconditioned one looks new and works great so far.  If it lasts long enough to use the toner I will be happy.

MF6160 Canon Job Status Error Message

After every job being completed, the machine tries to print a report and then the job gets suspended. This blocks all other jobs from being processed (printing, copying, faxing or scanning). Every time I have to go into the Copy/Print Job Status and cancel the job. This just started happening this week and we have made no changes to the machine, to the network or to anything else.
