I have had this printer for just under a year. I dont use it often but when I do it seems it always is running out of ink. My old mp500 canon inkjet was much better! All I do is print out schematics of old radios ocassionally yet the ink monitor is always telling me a cartridge is out. And of course it is, this time the cyan is out. Do these printers just waste ink by priming it? Do they have to be used often? Beginning to think this printer was a big mistake purchasing.

Re: canon mb2720 ink always running out when I dont print a lot.
80 bucks for new ink just plain bites.
Re: canon mb2720 ink always running out when I dont print a lot.
Based on the type of printing you do, I would consider a Laser printer over an inkjet. BW or color, you'll ultimately get more bang for your buck.
Re: Canon LBP6000 work with Print Server
Rick I agree a 100% with you. I have had network enabled printers and had so much trouble with them. One time they are connected, and the next time around some 'wirelss' glitch and have to connect them in to the LAN once again. So I go tired and purposefuly purchased this less then 1 year old Canon and I am extremely happy with it. Now of course, wanting to go the LAN printer topology again, I would definitely consider the Wireless Cannon Printer options but for now will stick to this guy. I have actually found a relatively easy solution. Connected a few printers via USB to a USB-always-on-hub and voila now all printers can print regardless if one or none of PCs are powered on. Easy fix.

Re: MF634CDW Not Waking from Sleep when print job is sent
mf733cdw can not be found on network
I have a new mf733 printer. I have configured, according to instructions for a wireless Lan setup. I have entered the SSID and keyword. The printer states it is on the network, however, when I try to download and setup the drivers, the computer can not find the printer. It asks for me to enter the IP address, but there is not setting on the printer to obtain the IP address, only the MAC address. I have reinitialized the network settings multiple times. Nothing works.
Re: Canon MB5400 series printer: Choses to fax rather than print
So, im back, with not so great news. My Canon printer is doing the same thing as before. Every attempt at printing from my laptop results in the printers monitor displaying the words, "sending fax..." , with no end. The printing queue on my laptop also displays that the printer is "performing another action". Which I assume is the fax,but ive never sent a fax on my printer. Is there any way to permanently resolve this ? Is there some kind of reason the action of printing from my laptop seems to trigger the printer to send a ghost fax to nobody? Please send me any suggestions or tips.
Testing Scan to Email Settings
ImageCLASS M733C
Is there a way to test the Scan to Email configuration within the UI, instead of having to go to the device itself to try to scan? We are mostly an HP shop, and there is a button to TEST SMTP settings so we know the device is communicating correctly. Is there a comparable option in the Canon UI?
Re: MF634CDW Not Waking from Sleep when print job is sent
You say you fixed this. Would you please explain how? I suspect you actually meant to say you found a workaround. By suggesting you fixed the problem, you are giving Canon an excuse to avoid fixing their software.

Re: mf733cdw can not be found on network
Hi kacuf.
You can view the IP address of the printer through the Status Monitor on the printer. Please follow the steps below:
<Status Monitor> <Network Information>
<IPv4>
<IP Address>
Check the settings
If you still experience an issue when using the IP address, please confirm if you are using a dual-band wireless router. If so, the printer is only supported on the 2.4 GHz network, so your computer must be connected to this network to communicate with the printer.
If the printer is still not detected after verifying this information, then we recommend that you call us at 1-800-OK-CANON (652-2666), Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET (excluding holidays).
Re: mf733cdw can not be found on network
Feel free to check the source > Your router, as well.
So two options where you can get the IP of your connected device.

MF632CDW error using MF Scan Utility
I recently bought an MF632CDW printer. Connected via WLAN to my home network. Tried to install the software that came along with the printer onto my MacBook Pro, MacOS 10.14.3. This didn't work (error message: this software is for a different operating system)
Installed the new printer via AirPrint on the MacBook and I could use the generic scan function. Went then to the Canon website and searched for updated software/driver in order to use the enhanced functions of the scanner like scan-to-email or scan-to-folder.
Deleted the printer and rebooted the system.
Downloaded two files from the website which seem to be the newest available
- mac-mf-v10111-00.dmg
- mac-scan-v2140-01.dmg
After installing I set up the new printer in System Settings. Then I registered the Printer/Scanner in the MF Scan Utility. It appeared correctly.
Now: when I try to scan remotely (by clicking scan document, scan-to-email-scan-to-folder, Scan Gear) an error message appears that the printer/scanner is either:
- busy
- not properly connected
- or an error occurred in the printer
Error code: 210009
Desperately tried a couple of times uninstalling and re-installing driver, software according to the manual, nothing happened. No solution on the internet, either. Maybe, someone has an idea?
Re: Maxify MB2720 says "sending fax" when trying to print
Hi
I have cancelled all printer jobs and even unplugged the printer. But, when I turn it back on again, it continues to sending fax. How do I stop this stupid thing?
MB2720 requires troubleshooter
My MB2720 refuses to print from my laptop (wireless) unless I run the troubleshooter. I send the print job to the printer, it says "error. the printer is unable to print". If I then run the windows printer troubleshooter it will print. The troubleshooter shows no problems.
Re: MB2720 requires troubleshooter
Bueller........Bueller......
MB2720 requires troubleshooter
No responses on the other forum so I will try here. My MB2720 won't print from my laptop unless I run the troubleshooter. The troubleshooter finds nothing wrong, then it will print.
Surely this isn't how Canon wants this to be. The printer is barely 3 months old.

Re: MB2120 printer says "Sending Fax" even though there is no fax to send
David - I may have solved this. My printer had the exact same symptoms. Everytie I plug it in, after a few seconds, it displayed "sending fax"
Unplugged and replugged the printer. When the "printer powered off wrong" message, I began repeatly pressing the power off button. After about 10 seconds, a new message "ending, please wait a while" came up. After about 20 secnds, printer powered off nicely. Pressed the power button again, and printer came back on properly
Cheers
