Stopping a Fax

My Cannon Maxify MB2700 series printer has been trying to send a fax, not initiated by me,  for over an hour. The STOP button does not work to cancel it and I have also turned the printer off, waited a few minutes, and then turned it on again and the same fax is still sending.  I need to print some other documents.   What should I do?

Help! My scanner isn't working anymore. It was working fine when I left for work yesterday morning and when I got home last nght and tried to work my other job, it kept coming up with the message of:

 

A supported scanner is not installed. Please install a supported scanner, and then restart Toolbox.

 

Anyone else having this problem? I've uninstalled everything and reinstalled and it still doesn't work! I need the scanner to send documents!

Can't scan using MF726Cdw with OS X Mojave10.14.1

I do have problem to connect to my scanner in MF726Cdw with my Mac.

I did the following:

  1. confirm MacOS is Mojave 10.14.4 
  2. update the firmware to v03.05 mac-mf722-728-fw-v0305.dmg using direct ethernet connection sucessfully
  3. download MF Printer Driver & Utilities for Mac V10.11.1 mac-mf-v10111-00.dmg
  4. download Scanner Driver & Utiliities for Mac V2.14.0 mac-scan-v2140-00.dmg
  5. download Fax Driver & Utiliities for Mac V4.15.1  mac-fax-v4151-00.dmg
  6. install the printer to the mac 

In additonal to the drivers available from Canon, I've noticed that there is AirPrint available in Mojave.

So I use AirPrint dirver first. The printer function works flawlessly.

However, I cannot initiate the scanner at all. It seems not working. I got an error message saying "Failed to open a session on the device. (-9927)". 

I also have "Cannon MF Scan Utility.app" installed. I have been using this app a lot in the past. When I run it, I must do the network scanner. However, this utility could not acquire my pinter.

Have seen a few reports from others stating the same behavior (various models).

 

How is your printer connected in your environment?

 

Do you have a telephone line connected?

 

What operating system are you using?

Rick, thank you for your response.  My daughter knew how to re-install and update the drivers and everything seems to be working fine now.  I have no knowledge to explain how she did it.

The uninstall and reinstall of the printer's drivers is the same information posted by others which I found as well.

Sorry this response is so lat but I recently had this problem myself.  I turned off and unplugged the printer.  That did not work. When I turned the printer back on the blinking light started again.  I updated the drivers.  That did not work.  

 

As it turns out, the blinking light had nothing to do with the printer.  Apparently this issue arose because I have a router with a lower and high speed internet connections.  If one isn't working or slows down we just use the other.  However, my printer is only uses the lower speed connection. This connections was down and not functioning properly.  I overlooked it because the higher speed connection was working.  I simply unplugged the router for a couple of minutes, plugged it back in, and gave it a few minutes to start functioning properly.  The light disappeared and I was able print immediately.  Hope this helps.

I'm wondering whether this is a cache or memory issue either with the scanner or with windows.  Depending upon the dpi or color/greyscale settings, the freeze happens anywhere between 8% and around 30%.  

Now, I WAS able to get it up and running by using your suggestion regarding the startup loading.  That allowed a greyscale scan at 300 dpi.  When I went to rescan color at 400dpi as a stress test, it scans to 8% and freezes... 3 minutes later still no progress.

 

Is there a memory setting that we can changes somewhere to help this?

Canon, apparently this issue has not been resolved. Everyone has been told different workarounds, but no definite answer. I just paid a good chunk of change for what I thought would be better than my Brother printer, but if it won't print without all this drama, it is definitly far worse. We were told this was one of Cannon's newest printers and assumed it would be great. Please help this to be true by fixing this bug! I hope to hear back soon!

I am facing big problem installing successfully canon mf4350d on windows 10. I tried CD instalation kit but when I tried to print there is a message telling “ laser printer driver not available “. Also tried to get new drivers from canon website but same trouble will come up. Any help please?

Nobody with an idea?
Meanwhile, I performed a complete reset of the printer/scanner unit. Connected it by Cat 6, disabled Wireless connection. Still the same behaviour. Need help urgently.

I just started getting this black line also on my Canon Maxify MB2320.  I tried everything they said here but to no avail.  I finally out of frustration rubbed my thumb across the small glass area for the ADF reader.  I thought it would smear or something but low and behold, the black line is gone now.  I tried the credit card trick, I tried the rag dry and wet, I tried blowing it out and nothing worked.  I checked for firmware and software updates but there were no new ones.  I rubbed my thumb acrossed it straight twice and it worked.

 

Give it a try.  Make sure your hands are completely clean and completely dry... Do not assume your thumb or fingers are clean.  If you have touched anything with your thumb or fingers then they are not clean anymore... Make sure they are COMPLETELY clean and dry.

Cannon Imagerunner, Advance C5550i sending cached scans in a single email

So one of my users send me an email asking if we could step in and see if we could stop sending all the scanned documents in one single email, so when a user goes in and scans documents during the morning then another user goes and scan in the afternoon if will send the scans from the morning and the ones from the afternoon in a single email, we want to separate them in separte emails and also printer/scanner not be sending the whole bunch of docs, we are thinking it could be a cache issue but we are not sure of it.

 

Any help is much appreciated.
