Re: pencil stuck in MF229 laser printer

Hello esrakan,

 

I understand your imageCLASS MF229dw is no longer printing after a pencil got stuck inside the unit.  If you completed all of the steps listed under the "Paper Jams inside the Machine" section at this LINK, then you have did everything I would recommend to restore your MF229dw to working as designed.  At this point, your MF229dw will require service.  We are unable to provide you with instructions on how to conduct repairs because repair procedures are only available to members of our Authorized Service Facility (ASF) network. 

 

I recommend contacting us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) so that we may provide you with your service options.  I understand that the forum may be your preferred method of communication; however, speaking with our telephone technical support group will be very beneficial in this case.

Re: ERROR: Bios Mode

Hello bartman99,

 

I understand your imageCLASS MF4350 displays the error *BIOS Mode* Wait Updating F/W. Resetting your printer using the steps below should clear the error. By resetting the printer's power, the print buffer is cleared and certain sensors are reset. If there is invalid data in the buffer, or sensors are stuck in a particular mode; a message may appear.

 

Follow these steps to reset the printer:

 

1. Turn the printer off with the Power button.

2. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.

3. Unplug the printer's power cord for at least ten minutes, and then plug it back in.

Note: If the power cord is plugged into a surge protector, it may be necessary (for testing purposes) to plug the cord directly into the wall outlet if possible.

4. Turn the printer back on.

5. Retry the operation.

 

If the message does not clear, unplug the printer for at least 24 hours.

 

If the issue persists, you have completed all of the steps that should restore your MF4350d to working as designed. At this point, your MF4350d will require service. Please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) so that we may provide you with your service options.

Hello johniebouy,

 

I understand you are unable to print with your imageCLASS MF4450. Follow these steps to delete the drivers for your MF4450: (If certain items are not listed or found, move on to the next step.)

 

1. Unplug the USB cable from your MF4450.

2. Click [Start] on the Windows task bar, select [Devices and Printers]. The Devices and Printers window opens.

3. In the Devices and Printers window, right click on the MF4450 and select 'Remove' to delete the printer. Delete all of the icons for the MF4450.

4. Close the Devices and Printers window then select [Start] from the bottom left corner of the Windows screen.

5. Select [All Programs], [Canon], [MF4450] or [MF4400 series], then [Uninstall Drivers]. The [Drivers Uninstaller] dialog box appears.

6. Click [Delete].

7. Click [Yes]. Uninstallation proceeds automatically and next dialog box appears.

8. Click [Exit].

9. Restart your computer.

 

After your computer restarts, before you reconnect the USB cable, click HERE to go to our Drivers & Downloads page for yuor MF4450 to download the drivers. Reconnect the USB cable when prompted by the Setup Wizard or after the Setup Wizard is complete.

Your question was not clear. Are you asking if our printers will alert you if you are printing more than 10 pages (or another number that you specify in advance)? If this isn't the question you are asking, could you elaborate? Also, are you referring to our laser (imageCLASS) or ink jet (PIXMA) printers?

I understand there is a slight red colorshift when printing with your Color imageCLASS MF8580Cdw. If you are using Genuine Canon 118 toner cartridges, and you have cleaned the fixing unit and transfer belt using the instructions found at this LINK, you have completed all of the steps that should restore your print quality. Your MF8580Cdw will require service. Please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) so that we may provide you with your service options.

 

If you are using non-Canon toner cartridges, replacing your toner cartridges with Genuine Canon 118 toner cartridges should restore your print quality and you will be able to complete the auto adjust, auto adjust gradation, and color correction (as needed).

Smae problem. I cannot print and cannot change the ink. The machine is useless.  This is a ridiculously ineffectual design. I will never buy a Canon Copier again.

Hi drmarkh

 

The laser machines or the rollers will make a noise if you are using recycled paper, store brand like office depot or staples is recycled, they have a higher moisture content that causes condensation inside the copiers and it gets on the rollers.  You can set the paper type to recycled and that will help but I recommend that you use a name brand paper like hp or georgia pacific for optimial results.

Hi

 

can somebody please help, i keep getting an error on my printer MF8080CW

 

'the printer couldnt print the test page'

 

or 'the printer couldnt print the "file name"

 

it was printing fine but now stopped.

Canon iR1018j

Hello, I have Canon "iR1018j" Printer and Scanner. I have a problem with connectiong this Printer/mfd to a PC. I have windows 10 based operation system and every driver I download from Canon is not recognizing my device when I connect my printer to Pc over usb. Printer is a little bit older modell so it does not support network. Things I have tryed:

- Downloading drivers from Cannon.

-Trying manually adding Device under "Devices and printers" by selecting Virtual Usb 000.

-Searching for any other driver on windows update option ( No new driver found ! ).

-Trying putting compatibility to win xp/7/8.

- Using multiple usb cabel.

- Tryed the tipps that Canon gave with trying to plug usb at proper time.

 

And nothing worked, can anybody that has expirience or same printer maybe answer my question

 

Some maybe neccessary info :

 

Modell of my notebook : Acer aspire 5560G

OS: Microsoft windows 10 Home - newest update.

Updated BIOS.

MF211 can't scan, can't install driver, windows 10 64 bit

I can print pages but when I try to scan today i can't. So I tried to update driver but i can't install it. It can't detect USB connection. But I could use printer, so USB connection is working.


When I push Scan button on the printer nothing happens. When I run MF toolbox it says "A supported scanner is not installed."

 

This problem occured after I begin to use Windows 10 64 bit. I was using Windows 8 64 bit before.

My MF4450 scanner worked 3 days ago, but it stopped funtioning today after my windows 10 pro recent patch, I guess. MF toolbox 4.9 can't connect to the scanner, with error msg" a supported scanner is not installed". The most funny part is windows fax & scanner can scan via this scanner. I connected the scanner to my PC directly via USB. Any solution?

Series of equally spaced dots on my printed documents from Canon LPD7660Cdn laser printer

I am suddenly seeing an equally spaced and sized pattern of black dots down the right side of my printed documents and 2 columns of dots also equally spaced and sized down the left side.  What is causing this and how do I fix it?

Canon MF632Cdw Update question

Okay, been having this laser printer for a few months now since April this year. I noticed that from previous times, when I checked for firmware update, whenever I checked for update, it will appear an agreement to neither accept or do not accept, I selected to accept, then when it reads that it should not be turned off when downloading update, I clicked OK, then the minute it's downloaded then it kept coming back with an error that an error has occured please try again later. I kept doing it again and again, to no avail. I love this printer, I want this printer to have some sort of update to keep improving. 

 

Has anyone found a solution to how can I force this printer to download the firmware update?
