Re: Automatically delete stored printjobs after printer
Re: MF4700 Series driver causes high cpu usage
Patrice, this is by far the most [Mod Note: Edited post per forum guidelines] answer I've seen from Canon. When you say " Linux exists in many different versions, and the driver cannot be tested against all of them." You are saying "we are an inept company, and we don't know how to properly write linux drivers." If your answer was even remotely true then how do we have all this great software that runs on all linux distributions? mysql, plex, x, gnome, libre office, chrome, firefox, WINDOWS itself!....I mean, do you want me to go on? Furthermore, why is it that HP printers always work on Linux?
Since your position won't allow you to write a truthful reply, let me try for you:
Hi rfrye7533,
We don't fully understand the market potential of linux users, so we prefer to just ignore it to the detriment of our revenue and ultimately our shareholders. We only focus on the low hanging fruit which is Windows. In fact, some of the top executives are probably receiving kickbacks from MSFT to keep this printer from functioning properly on anything but Windows.
Re: Is it possible to scan a double-sided index card? (C5550i)
Hello, again, Canon Community!
I am back with a solution!
All you must do to scan individual index cards is to put one on the platen glass, and cover it fully with a larger sheet of paper. That's it. It is going to be annoying to scan all 2,430 cards individually this manner, front and back, but it is what it is. At least there's a way to scan them in. To get rid of the larger sheet from appearing in the file, I end up having to edit the documents in Adobe Acrobat DC, but I am certain that other softwares can do similar things. The reason we must place a larger sheet to cover a card is due to the scanner being unable to sense that there is anything on the platen glass, at all. The dimensions for an index card are simply too small for the scanner to notice.
I hope that helps! If not, I can further go into detail, just let me know.
Thank you!,
Xavitan

Re: Only installed 1/2
Hello Sonya1 and others:
As you know I am using the old Canon imageClass MF4350d in the w10. You helped
me the installing months ago.
Since installed, I only used the printing function. Today I use the SCAN, it refused to work and said:
Cannot communica with the scanner.
The cable may be disconnected, or the scanner may be turned off.
Check the scanner status and try again. ...
I don't know how to "check the scanner status" and simply re-install the scanner with "ToolBox_4911mf18_Win_EN.exe"
But also failed! It prompts:
Installation has been interrupted
The wizard was interrupted before MF Toolbox could be completely installed.
To install program at a later time, run setup wizard to perform the system process
again."

Re: "Could not install the scanner driver" MF227dw
I may have finally resolve my issue. I had the problem everyone on this thread was having, after trying almost everything on my Win10X64 laptop, I tried the following.
1. Moved the unzipped installation package out of the downloads folder. I moved it to C:\Drivers\Canon
2. Removed the rediculously long folder name that was default from Canon's unzip program
3. Removed fax and xps printers from Windows (not sure if this helped or not)
4. Ran the install and it worked!

Re: MF634CDW Not Waking from Sleep when print job is sent
No, I have not found a permanent solution, but may have stumbled on a work around. I had previously configured a static IP address for the unit. After having all these problems, I setup the printer all over again and this time I kept the network setting default to dhcp. I have had a problem once with the printer picking up a new IP address, but is easily remedied with either a reservation or just a new printer port. It seems that since this change, I have not been seeing the issue but my wife could be power cycling the printer as well when I'm not around. Now, it could have been starting over that fixed it also.
Canon MF8280CW Error - E744-6000
When I turn on the printer I get the Error Code E744-6000
looking at the following website:
http://copier-repair-parts.com/2017/05/06/imageclass-mf5950dw-e744-6000/
Solutions :
1. Turn OFF and then ON the main power.
2. Check the connection of the Wireless LAN.
3. Install the set of the controller firmware.
4. Replace the Main Controller PCB.
This error just occurred, I think it may be the PCB.
Is there a Repair Manual to instruct me on how to replace the Main Controller PCB along with a part number?
